چکیده

A highly linear programmable-gain amplifier (PGA) is fabricated using a 0.35m CMOS technology. High linearity and constant wide bandwidth are achieved by using a high-gain amplifier with low input impedance and resistor-network feedback. The voltage gain is varied by digitally controlling the input switched resistors. The distortion of a switched resistor has been analyzed using the Volterra series. The PGA has a voltage gain varying from 0 to 19 dB, while maintaining a constant bandwidth of 125 MHz. The third-order intermodulation distortion is 86 dB at 10 MHz. The circuit dissipates 21 mW from a 3.3-V supply.

Improving Linearity of CMOS Variable-gain Amplifier Using Third-order Intermodulation Cancellation Mechanism and Intermodulation Distortion Sinking Techniques

This paper presents an improved linearity variable-gain amplifier (VGA) in 0.18-µm CMOS technology. The linearity improvement is resulted from employing a new combinational technique, which utilizes third-order-intermodulation (IM3) cancellation mechanism using second-order-intermodulation (IM2) injection, and intermodulation distortion (IMD) sinking techniques. The proposed VGA gain cell co...

Experimental 1-V flexible-IF CMOS analoguebaseband chain for IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLAN receivers

A low-voltage low-power analogue-baseband chain designed for IEEE 802.11a/b/g wireless local-area network (WLAN) receivers is described. It features architecturally a ‘two-step channel selection’ to complement the radio front-end, and a flexible intermediate frequency (IF) reception capability to alleviate the cancellation of frequency and DC-offset. In circuit implementation, a double-quadratu...

A CMOS Analog Baseband for a 5GHzWLAN Direct- Conversion Receiver

This paper describes a CMOS analog baseband circuits for directconversion receiver of5GHz IEEE 802.11a. The analog baseband consists of I/Q signal paths which have channel selection filter, programmable gain amplifier (PGA). An active-RC channel selection filter for WLAN is described whose cut-off frequency is tunable from 6MHz to 20MHz. For high linearity, the PGA is constructed with op-amp an...

Widely Programmable High-Frequency Active RC Filters in CMOS Technology

We propose a circuit technique that enables the realization of widely programmable high-frequency active RC filters in CMOS technology. A fifth-order Chebyshev ladder filter having a digitally programmable 3-dB bandwidth (from 44 to 300 MHz) is used as a vehicle to validate our ideas. The opamp uses feedforward compensation for achieving high dc gain and wide bandwidth. The integrating resistor...

A Low-Voltage, Low-Power, Two-Stage Amplifier for Switched-Capacitor Applications in 90 nm CMOS Process

Abstract- A novel low-voltage two-stage operational amplifier employing resistive biasing is presented. This amplifier implements neutralization and correction common mode stability in second stage while employs capacitive dc level shifter and coupling between two stages. The structure reduces the power consumption and increases output voltage swing. The compensation is performed by simple mill...
